Greenfield Construction is a civil contractor with an established presence across Western Canada, operating from our office in Strathmore, Alberta. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Earthworks Superintendent / Foreperson for a bridge and earthworks project near Lloydminster, Alberta .
This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role suited for a superintendent who is looking for an opportunity within a growing and well-established civil construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily on-site construction activities for all earthworks.
- Enforce compliance with provincial OH&S regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety plans.
- Coordinate forepersons, trades, and labor crews to maintain productivity and site efficiency.
- Review and interpret IFC drawings, specifications, and construction schedules, ensuring work aligns with engineering and contractual requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Plan and manage materials, equipment, and logistics to support efficient site operations.
- Identify and resolve site challenges proactively while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs, safety records, inspections, and meeting minutes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an Earthworks Superintendent / Foreperson or similar role on civil or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to lead large site teams and manage multiple subcontractors and scopes simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, productivity tracking, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SiteDocs is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
