The initial job duties the Employee will be expected to perform will be the following. These will be modified from time to time as advised by the Employer from time to time.
1. Food & Beverage Service Excellence
- Full-Cycle Service Management: As the primary point of service, manage all aspects of the member experience from welcoming and seating to order entry, service, and final reconciliation.
- Menu Expertise: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food menus, beer & wine lists, and cocktail recipes. Provide detailed descriptions of ingredients, potential allergens, and preparation methods to members and guests.
- Strategic Guest Interaction: Actively engage with members to provide personalized recommendations and "suggestive selling" (e.g., specific wine pairings, appetizers, or menu additions) to enhance the member experience.
- Efficient POS Management: Promptly and accurately enter all food and beverage orders into the POS system immediately after they are taken to ensure the quickest possible service and accurate communication with the kitchen.
- Daily Specials: Ensure daily specials are communicated by the kitchen, posted clearly on the physical specials board, and updated on the KYC website at the start of every shift.
- Vertical Service & Quality Control: Execute the timely delivery of food items from the second-floor kitchen via the staircase to the main floor dining area and patio, ensuring food quality and temperature meet Club standards.
- Operational Readiness & Team Support: Utilize the "Side Duties Checklist" and downtime to proactively prepare the bar and dining area for the following shift. This includes restocking all refrigerators and bar supplies, rolling cutlery, polishing glassware, and ensuring all service stations are fully prepped. A primary responsibility is ensuring the incoming team member is set up for immediate success.
- Table & Glassware Management: Set tables according to Club standards. Responsible for the washing and polishing of all glassware to ensure a premium presentation.
- Floor Maintenance (Bussing): Maintain a pristine dining environment by promptly clearing (bussing) dishes, cutlery, and glassware from tables; return all used food-service items to the kitchen for washing.
- Kitchen Liaison: Inform the kitchen of new arrivals and communicate daily and upcoming reservations to ensure the kitchen team is prepared for volume.
2. Member Relations & Information Services
- Club Ambassadorship: Provide a premium, welcoming environment; greet members by name (utilizing POS lookup as a tool) and use member names throughout service and upon departure.
- Information Hub: Serve as a primary resource for members and guests regarding Membership categories, Sail Training programs, and Marine Services (fuel dock).
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify prospective members and accurately input leads into the CRM software to ensure management follow-up.
- Member Account Management: Encourage and remind all members to sign their chits before leaving the premises to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
- Complaint Resolution: Promptly identify and resolve service or meal complaints with professional discretion; report all member concerns or compliments to the General Manager.
3. Event & Administrative Operations
- Event Readiness: Regularly check the Event Booking Software for upcoming special events; execute the setup of the club (furniture, linens, AV) strictly according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Digital Proficiency: Utilize Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Google Calendar) for internal scheduling, shift logs, and club reporting.
- Financial Accountability: Prepare accurate End-of-Shift Reconciliations; reconcile member chits, credit cards, and debit payments against POS reports; and document any discrepancies on provided forms.
4. Maintenance, Safety & Weather
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all food handling, KFL&A Public Health, and AGCO regulations (Smart Serve).
- Environmental Upkeep: Maintain the bar, dining room, and patio in a clean and organized state. These duties are a minimum daily requirement but must be performed multiple times per shift (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming) as traffic dictates.
- Weather Preparedness (Summer): Monitor local weather; responsible for the rapid clearing or securing of patio furniture, cushions, and umbrellas during high winds, rains or storms.
- Weather Preparedness (Winter): Monitor the safety of all club pathways and steps; responsible for shoveling snow and applying salt to ensure safe access.
- Physical Labor: Restock bar supplies and move heavy items (e.g., kegs and furniture) as required for daily operations.
5. Procedures & Security
- Standard Operating Procedures: Responsible for the consistent execution of all "Opening, Closing, and Side Duty Checklists" as provided by Management. These checklists serve as the primary resource for operational standards and shift transitions.
- Clubhouse Security: Execute opening and closing procedures for the entire clubhouse, ensuring all doors/windows are secure and alarms are set.
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
