Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Hours: 25–40 hours per week (flexible, includes evenings & weekends)

Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on assistant manager to lead front-of-house operations. This is a working role for someone who thrives during service, leads by example, and is confident managing both people and performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Floor Leadership
- Run shifts and lead from the floor, ensuring smooth, high-quality service
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences and build rapport with regulars (remembering names/faces)
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
- Run expo for dine-in and takeout orders
- Help to manage and run the food truck at events
Staffing & Labour Management
- Create staff schedules and manage availability
- Actively manage labour during shifts to align with business levels
- Train, support, and motivate team members
Cash Handling & Reporting
- Oversee cash handling procedures and end-of-day cash-outs
- Review, edit, and verify cash reports using Excel
- Ensure accuracy, accountability, and proper reconciliation
Operations & Systems
- Manage takeout orders via POS and phone
- Maintain strong communication between front and back of house
- Ensure service standards and operational efficiency are consistently met
Stock & Inventory
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering
- Maintain proper inventory control and reduce waste
Menu Development & Offers
- Edit and update menus based on seasonality
- Improve offerings, including cocktails and in-store promotions
Marketing & Social Media
- Support and manage social media activity (content, engagement, promotions)
- Help drive traffic and build the restaurant’s local presence
Cleanliness & Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized front-of-house environment
- Implement and enforce cleaning schedules and standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience running a restaurant floor
- A valid drivers license is preferred
- Experience scheduling staff and managing labour effectively
- Strong cash handling skills and experience reviewing cash-outs (Excel knowledge preferred)
- Ability to contribute to menu updates and improve product offerings (including cocktails)
- Comfortable with social media promotion and engagement
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A hands-on leader who leads by example during service
- Genuine enthusiasm for customer service and building relationships with guests
