Reporting to the Manager, the Regional Rehab Quality Resource provides regional expertise on quality and safety standards and practice issues for Island Health's rehabilitation programs. Utilizing evidence-based practice principles, is accountable to drive quality improvement through design, planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of clinical standards, policies/procedures and quality and process improvement initiatives for the rehabilitation services across the care continuum, including acute therapy services, inpatient rehabilitation and community-based rehabilitation. This role provides consultation and education with various rehabilitation teams including Community Practice Resource, Rehab Navigator and Operational Practice Support to ensure clinical standards, policies/procedures, and process changes are implemented in a sustainable way.
The Regional Rehab Quality Resource fosters collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, advocates for best practices in rehabilitation services in a variety of settings, and leads and participates in continuous quality improvement, accreditation, research utilization management and education to enhance patient outcomes and system efficiency; maintains a variety of records; chairs designated meetings/committees; prepares and delivers presentations.
Accountable to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
Travel is a requirement of this position and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health.
