We are seeking Part-Time Cashiers to join our Café 29 Team. As a Café 29 Cashier you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional member service experience by providing prompt, efficient and friendly service to our members and guests, while striving for consistency. You will showcase passion in the products that you are serving and be able to educate the membership with menu and product knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Welcoming members and guests, informing them about specials or new items, answering their questions, helping them locate items, and providing advice or recommendations
- Preparing a variety of baked goods and beverages such as smoothies and specialty coffees
- Operating the cash register and Point of Sales (POS) system
- Clearing and cleaning tables and stocking items
- Attend Café 29 meetings and training sessions
- Ensure compliance with all Glencoe Health and Safety standards and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of previous experience within a customer service or hospitality focused role
- Previous experience with food & beverage preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 6 months experience operating a POS system
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
- Strong Understanding of Alberta food handling health standards
- Alberta Food Safety Basics certificate or comparable certificate (or ability to obtain) is an asset
- Ability to stand and walk comfortably for the duration of the shift, with the capacity to lift, carry, and move supplies weighing up to 20 lbs

Additional Details:
These are Part-Time positions that report to the Café 29 Supervisor. The successful candidates will be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is needed.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as a Respect in the Workplace online certification prior to commencing employment.
