Mt. Ida Nursery Ltd. is a commercial tree seedling nursery that grows containerised seedlings for BC Timber Sales, Private Forest Companies and Private Woodlot’s reforestation programs.
We are located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Operating 2016 growing to our Current annual production of about 10 million seedlings and will continue to increase with expected future expansion.
Mt Ida nursery thrives on producing the best quality crops that lead to exceptional trees within our forests creating healthy and sustainable forests for future generations.
Job Description
Mt. Ida Nursery Ltd. is currently seeking employees for the upcoming harvest season starting tentatively the second week of October. The job will be 40 hours per week and will run until Mid December. Potential for a few candidates to have continued work.
Duties:
- Transportation of seedlings from greenhouses to the sorting line
- Grading of seedlings
- Wrapping and packaging of seedlings
- Washing empty styrofoam blocks
- General cleanup duties
- Fast-paced environment. on your feet for multiple hours
Qualifications:
· Candidates will be able to complete physically demanding tasks with the ability to stay on your feet for long periods
· Work in all weather conditions (Indoor and outdoor environments)
· Candidates will work well as a team and on their own
· Prior experience not required; training will be provided
wage is $20/hr.
