At Momentum, we're looking for motivated coaches who are passionate about the game, committed to impacting the next generation of players, and dedicated to their own growth as coaches.
All our programs are built on the Mitrovic Method, our proprietary development system. New staff are trained on the Method and go through our internal certification in the early stages of working with us. We take coach development as seriously as we take player development.
Responsibilities
- Teach skills on court through clear explanation and demonstration
- Plan and sequence drills for team practices and skill development sessions
- Evaluate player strengths and weaknesses, and give players constructive feedback they can act on
- Coach with positive energy, and communicate professionally and positively with players, parents, and administrators
- Inspect the playing area before each session for safety
- Collaborate with the coaching staff and your supervisors on your own coaching development
Required Qualifications
- Collegiate or professional playing experience
- Minimum 1 year of coaching experience
- Strong ability to evaluate player strengths and weaknesses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish trust and authority with players
- Confidence to motivate and inspire athletes
- Organizational skills to plan and run practice sessions
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Police check (vulnerable sector)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of coaching experience
- Experience coaching youth specifically
- Leadership experience inside a team environment
- A desire to keep deepening your understanding of the game and how to teach it
