Job Description
Town Autobody is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our collision repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces for painting to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish.
Responsibilities:
- Sand, mask, and prep vehicle surfaces prior to painting
- Remove old paint, rust, and imperfections from vehicle body panels
- Apply primer and ensure surfaces are properly prepped for paint application
- Inspect vehicles for dents, scratches, and other imperfections before prep work
- Mask off areas not to be painted (trim, glass, moldings, etc.)
- Work closely with painters and other technicians to ensure quality and efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paint prepper or in a similar autobody role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
- Knowledge of body filler, sanding techniques, and masking procedures
- Ability to lift and maneuver vehicle parts as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
