About The Foundation
The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen (CFSOS) based in Penticton, B.C. works to build a vibrant, resilient region by connecting donors with community needs and opportunities. We manage charitable funds, provide grants, and collaborate with local partners to create lasting impact. Position Overview
CFSOS is seeking two enthusiastic summer students to assist our team in improving operations, enhancing community engagement, and supporting our mission. These roles will involve a mix of technical, analytical, and outreach tasks that contribute directly to the Foundation’s impact. Positions are hybrid remote at our office in Penticton.
Key Responsibilities
TECHNOLOGY & DATA MANAGEMENT
- ·Analyze and optimize the connection between GLM (Grant Lifecycle Manager) and CSuite software for seamless integration.
- Set up CSuite webpages for all funds, ensuring accuracy and alignment with branding.
- Help develop data visualization tools within CSuite to improve reporting and donor engagement.
- Maximize the use of AI in making our operations and community engagement as efficient and effective as possible.
GRANT & POLICY SUPPORT
- Analyze grant final reports and interview recipients to ensure proper record keeping and impact documentation.
- Assist with documenting operational policies and processes for internal use and compliance.
STORYTELLING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
- Plan and conduct interviews to document stories from community stakeholders to showcase impact.
- Implement community engagement strategies, including:
- Digital and in-person awareness surveys.
- Hosting a table at the weekly local farmers market.
- Representing the Foundation at Neighbourhood Small Grants events.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (business, communications, IT, social sciences, or related field preferred).
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviews and community engagement.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Experience with data visualization or web content management is an asset.
