JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Dishwasher
Job Overview: To provide guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of dish pit area.
Reports To: Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and Chef de Parties.
Key Relationships:
Internal: Kitchen staff and front of house staff.
External: guests/visitors, food vendors, equipment repair company personnel, health department inspectors.
Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Ability to stand for 6-8 hours.
2. Ability to bend, reach, stoop and wipe.
3. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment throughout entire shift; place these items on high and low shelves in storerooms, walk-ins and freezers.
4. Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
5. Hepatitis A vaccination.
Desirable:
1. Food Safe certificate.
Essential Skills:
1. Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
2. Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through.
3. Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.

5. Ability to transport cases of received goods to the work station; pots and pans of food from storage/prep areas to the serving line.

9. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Job Functions:
Essential:
- Provide guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware, and equipment.
- Ensures dishes are sanitized and available as needed.
- Keeps sanitation solution up to company codes at all times.
- Sets up dish machine in the AM and closes down in the PM according to company procedures.
- Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
- Washes plateware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes throughout the shift.
- Places clean plateware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils in specified areas.
- Keeps dish area clean by sweeping, mopping floors, wiping countertops, and emptying trash.
- Trouble-shoots dishwasher machine malfunctions.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees and guests to foster and promote a fun and harmonious working climate that maximizes morale, productivity and efficiency.
- Provides favorable image of the company at all times to promote its objectives and enhance public recognition of all its areas of endeavor.
Secondary :
- Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Perform duties in other areas of kitchen as assigned.
