Position: Master Controls & DDC Technician
Job Summary
The Master Controls & DDC Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems across commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, and residential facilities. This role provides technical leadership, supports project delivery teams, and ensures systems operate efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, commission, and troubleshoot DDC/BAS systems.
- Configure controllers, supervisory systems, graphics, alarms, trends, and reports.
- Integrate HVAC equipment including AHUs, RTUs, FCUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, ERVs, and central plant systems.
- Perform network setup and troubleshooting using BACnet/IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus, and other building protocols.
- Lead field technicians during installations and commissioning activities.
- Conduct site visits, functional testing, and performance verification.
- Support customers with technical service, training, and ongoing optimization.
- Review mechanical drawings, sequences of operation, and control submittals.
- Prepare commissioning reports and project closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of BAS/DDC experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls.
- Experience with Delta Controls, Distech, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium Niagara, or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus, and networking fundamentals.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Junior Controls & DDC Technician
Position: Junior Controls & DDC Technician
Job Summary
The Junior Controls & DDC Technician assists with the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems. This role works under the direction of senior technicians and project managers while gaining hands-on experience in building controls, networking, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of controllers, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
- Support BAS/DDC commissioning and startup activities.
- Perform point-to-point verification and functional testing.
- Assist with troubleshooting HVAC control systems.
- Install and terminate low-voltage control wiring.
- Update as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Support graphics development and controller configuration.
- Participate in preventive maintenance and service calls.
- Follow company safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or education in HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Building Automation, or related field.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of HVAC equipment and controls.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and networking fundamentals.
- Strong willingness to learn BAS/DDC systems and field commissioning practices.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Pay: $25.00-$75.00 per hour
