We are looking for experienced heavy equipment operators for the 2026 gold mining season in the Yukon.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, articulated dump truck, and/or graders as assigned.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, fuel, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary.
- Comply with all safety policies and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Communicate with team members using radio or other communication tools to ensure safe and effective coordination of operations.
- Report any faults or irregularities in equipment performance promptly to the supervisors.
- Maintain accurate logs or records as required.
- Assist with routine maintenance and emergency repairs of equipment.
- Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies regarding the handling and disposal of materials.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work long hours, typical work hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 12 days on 2 days off.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Advanced First Aid/OFA 3 (asset)
- Valid commercial class 1 license (asset)
Mining work site will be located 2 hours outside of Dawson City, Yukon. Housing and food provided on site (no additional charge). Seasonal work starting from July to October. Initial travel out to the camp will be paid for by the company. Employees who do not stay for the full season will be required to reimburse this amount upon leaving. Additional travel back and forth (not work related) will be at employee’s expense.
