Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Summer Student - Activity Aide to join our team at Broadview Nursing Home. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in recreation, healthcare, senior care, or caregiving fields to gain valuable hands-on experience. The role involves engaging residents through various activities, fostering a positive and stimulating environment, and supporting their overall well-being. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or working with individuals with disabilities and dementia is preferred but not required. This paid internship provides meaningful work experience in a supportive setting dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and leading engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
- Support residents during activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment
- Foster social interaction among residents to promote community involvement
- Help with set-up and clean-up of activity spaces
- Communicate effectively with residents, team members, and families to ensure a positive experience
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ behavior or health to the caregiving teamJob description:

- Reliable, responsible, and able to follow safety protocols
- Currently enrolled as a student or recent graduate interested in pursuing a career in recreation, healthcare or social services.
*Must have Valid Police Check and Step 2 TB testing. Every second weekend is required from 8-4pm.
Pay: From $22.22 per hour
