A well-established, locally owned company with a strong reputation and long-standing presence in the Lower Mainland is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its growing Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a collaborative work environment, values stability, and takes pride in producing accurate, timely work. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations while supporting a busy and dynamic organization.
What You Will Be Doing
Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
Match purchase orders to invoices and investigate discrepancies
Scan and upload invoices into the job costing system
Enter invoices into accounting and job costing software
Process hourly employee timecards
Review and process employee expense reports
Maintain and reconcile petty cash records
Reconcile corporate credit card accounts
Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items
Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and trades
Ensure payments are issued in accordance with agreed payment terms
Maintain organized electronic and physical accounts payable records
Assist the Finance team with ad hoc projects and administrative duties as required
What We Are Looking For
Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience
ERP system experience considered strong asset
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with financial information
Basic understanding of accounting principles
