Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive electrical knowledge, including blueprint reading, schematics, and residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across various projects, including renovations and new construction. The Journeyman Electrician will work on diverse tasks requiring technical expertise, safety awareness, and the ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform electrical work efficiently.
- Conduct system inspections to identify issues related to low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and wiring configurations.
- Assist with renovation projects by updating or upgrading existing electrical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using schematics and technical manuals; perform diagnostics on complex systems including PLCs.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to coordinate electrical installations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or hazards on the job site.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification required.
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or construction environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Familiarity with low voltage systems and industrial electrical components.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Experience with renovation projects or remodeling work is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing electrical issues.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to electrical codes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
