Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely during transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, and memory care best practices
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is desirable
- A compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to handle challenging situations effectively
