PWS Contracting is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and support the construction side of our business - renovations of high value residential and commercial projects.
This is not a manufacturing role. In this position, “Production” refers to the successful planning, staffing, coordination, execution, and close-out of residential and commercial construction projects.
About the Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for keeping our project teams organized, efficient, accountable, and aligned. You will work closely with the CEO, Leadership Team, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and field staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the high-quality standards expected by PWS clients.
The ultimate goal of this role is to reduce project risk, improve team performance, protect profitability, and help create a strong, positive production culture across all active projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of the PWS construction production team, including:
- Leading and supporting Project Managers, Site Supervisors, carpenters, labourers, and other production staff
- Creating and managing weekly production staff schedules
- Preparing and sending the weekly staff schedule by email
- Planning future staffing needs based on active and upcoming construction projects
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, evaluating, and offboarding production staff as required
- Ensuring company rules, processes, SOPs, and core values are followed across the production team
- Monitoring project budgets and proactively flagging cost issues, overages, or risks
- Reviewing project schedules, staffing requirements, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and open issues with Project Managers
- Hosting weekly production meetings for each active project with the assigned Project Manager and Site Supervisor
- Reviewing and approving client-facing project status reports before they are sent
- Reviewing Purchase Orders and Change Orders for accuracy and timeliness
- Approving Harvest timesheets weekly and Dext expenses three times per week for accuracy
- Attending and contributing to weekly leadership meetings
- Updating and maintaining PWS Production One Sheets as needed
- Holding production team members accountable to their roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
- Performing annual performance reviews using the PWS review process and core values
- Ensuring proper handoffs between Sales and Production at the start of each project
- Ensuring proper handoffs from Production back to Sales or client care at project completion
- Ensuring deficiency and warranty processes are followed to reduce cost, delays, and client frustration

The right person for this role is excellent at leading a diverse team of people, a strong construction operations leader who is organized, calm under pressure, and capable of managing multiple moving parts at once.
You should be comfortable leading people, solving problems, managing competing priorities, and communicating clearly with office staff, field teams, subcontractors, leadership, and clients.
Required Experience and Attributes
- Minimum 5 years of administrative construction experience
- Experience managing or supporting multiple construction projects at once
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project coordination, site operations, and field team requirements
- Project management experience with the ability to oversee complex construction tasks
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, supporting, and holding teams accountable
- Ability to resolve interpersonal issues in a professional, non-defensive, and tactful manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong follow-through
- Able to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
- Strong technology skills and an ability to use software as a daily productivity tool
- Motivated by team culture, process improvement, accountability, and high-quality client service
Schedule
Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding statutory holidays and the company’s two-week Christmas shutdown period.
Work Location
This role is primarily based out of the PWS office in East Vancouver near the PNE grounds. You will also be expected to attend in-person meetings at job sites with staff and, occasionally, with clients at their preferred location.
When working from home, you must have a dedicated workstation with a large computer monitor, webcam, and office chair.
