Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and setting up cooking stations
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper hygiene practices and food safety regulations
- Serve meals efficiently to customers or guests, ensuring timely and friendly service
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying supervisors when stock needs replenishing
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Skills
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry
- Ability to assist with meal preparation and cooking tasks efficiently and accurately
