Sous ChefJob Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Sous Chef to join our leadership team. This is a unique leadership role that oversees all back-of-house operations while also supporting a small front-of-house team when required. The successful candidate will lead by example, maintain high operational standards, and work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure a positive guest and team experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations.
- Train, lead, coach, and develop kitchen team members.
- Support and supervise a small front-of-house team as required.
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Complete, monitor, and sign off on all operational checklists.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Organize and maintain kitchen workspaces, walk-in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and product rotation.
- Support scheduling, training, and performance management of team members.
- Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage Manager to achieve operational goals.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 1–2 years of leadership experience in kitchens, overseeing 5-10 team members.
- Proven ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience maintaining operational standards and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Google Drive and related workplace tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Assets
- Knowledge and experience with smoked meats and barbecue techniques.
- Experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
- HACCP or food safety certification.

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.
