JOB DUTIES
- Client Interaction: Greet and assess clients to determine their needs for agency services. Assist with booking appointments and provide support for individuals using computer systems. Answering phones and directing calls. Assisting clients accessing computers and online supports
- Resume and Application Support: Write and edit resumes and cover letters, assist with online job applications, and provide guidance on job search strategies.
- Administrative Assistance: Support staff with various administrative tasks including creating and updating documents, and making follow-up and reminder calls. Updating databases and organizing information. Managing incoming referrals, setting up appointments and reporting back to referral sources.
- Social Media: Demonstrated experience managing professional social media channels and website content, ability to grow and engage an active online community, strong writing skills for creating engaging social media content, ability to create basic graphics and video content.
- Resource Management: Oversee the resource centre, ensuring that materials are current and easily accessible for clients.
- Community Resources: Help clients access additional community resources and services as needed.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in similar roles involving administrative support, client interaction, and resource management is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-Secondary Education in Social Services or related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience working with at risk, disadvantaged and diverse populations
- Good knowledge of community services and how to access them and able to provide advocacy for individuals needing access to them
- Must have strong organizational, computer and administrative skills, including using databases and excel spreadsheets
- Ability to manage the organization's social media platforms including; managing social media channels, content uploads and engaging audience Must have exceptional communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Experience in employment counselling or related field preferred
HOURS & LOCATION of WORK
- This is a full‑time, permanent position within our Employment Counselling Resource Centre (35 hours per week). The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with one required evening shift on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This role is fully in‑person at our Stone Road Mall office.
- A four‑day work week (28 hours per week) may be negotiated, with wages prorated accordingly. Please indicate your preferred schedule in your application.
