Overview
Aylmer Glass is seeking a reliable, hardworking Window & Door Installer Helper to join our installation team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced lead installers on residential and commercial projects.
This is a great entry-level or junior-level opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, basic tool knowledge, and an interest in growing a career in the glazing and carpentry trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Job Site Setup & Prep: Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks, staging materials, setting up staging or ladders, and protecting client property (drop cloths, floor protection).
- Installation Support: Assist lead installers with removing old windows/doors, carrying glass, lifting heavy frames, framing, shimming, and securing new units.
- Sealing & Finishing: Apply insulation (spray foam), caulking, flashing, trim work, and hardware installation under supervision.
- Site Clean-up: Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe throughout the day; haul away old units and job site debris.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keep company tools, vehicles, and shop areas clean, stocked, and in good working order.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years in general construction, carpentry, glazing, or trade helper roles preferred (will train the right candidate).
- Tools: Basic hand tool knowledge (tape measure, level, cordless drill, utility knife).
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift 70+ lbs regularly, carry glass/heavy assemblies, work on ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Driver’s License: Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record (preferred/required), must be insurable.
- Attributes: Punctual, strong attention to detail, respectful on customer sites, and eager to learn the trade.
