Job Summary
Certified Building Systems (CBS) is a full-service mechanical organization based in Mississauga, Ontario, established in July 2010. We specialize in comprehensive HVAC maintenance services, repairs and energy management – AI assisted with KOIOC solutions across a wide range of industry sectors throughout Canada. We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across various commercial and residential settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and demand service on HVAC equipment including RTUs, AHUs, MAUs, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and VRF systems
- Diagnose system issues and carry out effective repairs to minimize downtime
- Conduct seasonal system changeovers (heating to cooling and vice versa)
- Inspect and test system components including controls, sensors, motors, and electrical connections
- Ensure proper refrigerant handling and compliance with environmental regulations
- Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the Service Coordinator and clients
- Work closely with other trades (plumbing, electrical, BAS) to deliver integrated solutions
- Follow all health & safety policies and procedures on-site
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotating 24/7 service schedule
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Gas Technician Licence (mandatory)
- Minimum 3–5 years of HVAC service experience (preferred)
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence, or registered 313A apprentice (asset)
- ODP Certification (required)
- UA Local 787 union members are welcome to apply
- Experience working with commercial and high-rise residential HVAC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) (asset)
- Valid G driver’s licence with A clean driving record (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
