Trail Builder – Seasonal Position (Summer/Fall 2026)
Help Build One of Canada's Most Spectacular Coastal Trails
The Trailhead Development Company Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, hardworking Trail Builders to join our team in constructing the first 28-kilometre section of the Great Coastal Trail between Parsons Pond and Daniels Harbour on Newfoundland's breathtaking Great Northern Peninsula.
The Great Coastal Trail is an ambitious long-term project that will create a world-class multi-use trail system designed for hiking, mountain biking, and electric mountain biking while showcasing some of the province's most spectacular coastal scenery.
This is more than a seasonal job—it's an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by helping build a trail that residents and visitors will enjoy for generations.

What You'll Do
· Building new trail sections using sustainable trail construction techniques.
· Clearing and shaping trail corridors using hand and power tools.
· Installing drainage features and erosion control measures.
· Assisting with bridge, boardwalk, and other trail structure construction.
· Constructing stone features, retaining walls, and natural trail surfaces.
· Operating chainsaws, brush saws, compact equipment, and other trail-building tools (training provided where appropriate).
· Maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible work site.
· Working safely as part of a team in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience in trail construction, construction, landscaping, or related outdoor work.
· Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's Licence.
· Chainsaw Safety Certification (asset).
· Standard First Aid Certification (asset).
· Ability to travel daily to the Parsons Pond/Daniels Harbour work area.

· Full-time seasonal employment (37.5 hours per week).
· Competitive wage of $24.00 per hour.
