SHW AG is the global leader in the production of CO2-optimised pumps, engine components for all kinds of powertrains and high-performance brake discs used by the international automobile industry and the truck and off-highway segment, such as in agricultural machines, construction machines, stationary engines and wind turbines.
To strengthen our team at our Brampton location, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems, production machinery, and control equipment
- Install, inspect, test, and repair electrical components including motors, panels, circuits, and automated equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs (Siemens), HMIs, sensors, and actuators
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Install and calibrate electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with specifications and work orders
- Perform wiring, connections, and adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation
- Assist in PLC programming and control system adjustments to support maintenance activities
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, including work orders and troubleshooting documentation
- Assist in maintaining inventory of electrical spare parts and recommend stock levels
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or their designate
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years automotive experience, OEM(s), Tier 1 & Tier II
- College diploma as electro-mechanical technician
- Have demonstrated experience in previous electro-mechanical area
- Able to read and troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLC logic (GRAPH, SCL/STL, LAD, FBD)
- Excellent communication skills dealing with internal departments, equipment suppliers and other 3rd party service providers
- Experienced with MS Office and Maintenance software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule if required
- Able to read electric, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams
- Ability to attain C.Tech or C.E.T. certification
- Knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO TS 16949, ISO 14001 as well as ability to write procedures and work instructions is an asset
