Job Overview
Seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician for large vehicle shop work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles. This role requires a commitment to quality work and excellent customer service, as you will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and safety of various machinery and equipment.
Location
- Shop west of Edmonton, AB
- Shop north of Fort McMurray, AB
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Work and mentor apprentices
- At times, working in a large vehicle shop work will be required
Skills
- Proven experience of working on large equipment such as Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders and Excavators
- Experience with industrial equipment preventative maintenance and/or rebuild is essential.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Working with computer applications such as Caterpillar SIS
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interactions.
- Working in a safe work environment
Must have
- Alberta or Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Heavy Equipment ticket
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience working on large equipment
- Must have experience working on Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment
- Must have knowledge of computer diagnostics
- Must have a current class 5 driver's license and able to provide a 5 year clean driver's abstract
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment test
Work Schedule
- 7/7 rotation
- 7 am to 7 pm - 12 hour Day shift and Night shifts rotation
- Overtime pay after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week
- Union
- NO FIFO/CAMP
- LOA for Fort McMurray shop
