The Department of Families is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Resource Coordinator position located in Winnipeg.

Duties:
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for duties relating to the delivery of services for multiple programs that may include the Community Living disABILITY and Children’s disABILITY Services programs. Services are delivered in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act and the Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act, along with the corresponding Standards and service delivery principles. Primary duties involve hiring and management family support/direct service workers; ongoing monitoring and reporting regarding compliance with program legislation and policies; providing program information to Community or Family Services Workers, Family Support/Direct Service Workers, parents and community groups; and the development of new home and community services.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post secondary education in Human or Social Services with related work experience. Other combinations of related education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience working with children and families in a social service setting to plan, coordinate or implement services.
- Demonstrated experience in human resource management activities, including recruitment and labour relations (preferably in a unionized environment), with the ability to effectively lead and supervise a team.
- Demonstrated experience managing employee expenses, staff schedules, and handling confidential employee information and documentation.
- Experience interpreting and applying acts, regulations and/or policies and procedures.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Effective written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence for a variety of audiences.
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds by recognising diverse needs and addressing barriers that affect their access to services.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet workplace expectations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suits including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Must occasionally be able to travel through the province as required, including overnight stays.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted, Full Stage Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
