We are seeking a skilled Electrician or Instrumentation Journeyman to join our industry leading team. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical systems maintenance and installation within the oil & gas industry. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment and systems various field locations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Fraction’s core value, “We won’t put anyone in harm’s way” is the priority in all activities.
- Manage allocation of assets to specific jobs and provide precision asset tracking.
- Provide divisional leaders with appropriate paperwork and assist in ensuring that billing is accurate.
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical devices/equipment.
- Calibrate devices
- Manage Flowmeters, Level Sensors, Telemetry, Automation, and other applicable assets.
- Recertify assets as they are returned from field operations and recertify to QC specification and put back into service in a timely matter.
- Understand and execute circuit fundamentals.
- Set up, wire and troubleshoot motors and VFD’s
- Maintain and troubleshoot burner systems.
- Work with manufacturers and vendors to ensure assets are being managed to specifications.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, instruments, and control devices.
- Read, interpret and edit electrical and instrumentation diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Participate in creation and implementation of company policies and procedures
- Ensure safety standards are maintained to a high level.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Majority of time will be spent in the shop
- Field Callouts & Installs will be required.
- Must live near the base of employment or be willing to relocate.
- Pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical fitness testing required.
- Working in all weather conditions environment including extreme weather conditions (hot & cold), extreme driving conditions (snow, ice, mud, off-road)
- Bending and heavy lifting
- Travel & possible overnights required based on project requirements.
- Office environment includes Eye, neck, and back strain, sitting for long periods, light duty lifting, indoor environment.
Experience & Skills:
- Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation
- Highly motivated and able to work independently and part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Experience training employees an asset.
- Demonstrated ability in organizing multiple priorities and follow-up.
- Strong Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, Other
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- H2S, CSO and First Aid
