Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment across various routes. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high safety standards. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks for the transportation of freight, equipment, and materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transit
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading activities
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on various routes
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as needed
