Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering and project execution, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Intermediate Structural Engineering Technologist who is eager to learn and grow within our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, ready to take on a variety of tasks and contribute to different aspects of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Produce coordinated structural drawing packages during the preliminary and detailed design phases for concrete and steel structures.
- Perform self‑checks and quality reviews of structural drawings to verify accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards.
- Develop 2D structural detailing and 3D structural models for reinforced concrete and structural steel systems, including framing, connections, and embeds.
- Translate engineering sketches, and notes into completed drawings.
- Assist with design package assembly, internal reviews, and submissions to clients or regulatory authorities.
- Maintain familiarity with company drafting standards, QA/QC procedures, and project execution workflows to meet schedule and deliverable requirements.
- Collaborate within multi‑disciplinary design teams, coordinating structural drawings with civil, mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines across multiple offices.
- Perform assigned responsibilities with limited supervision, demonstrating sound judgment and attention to technical detail.
Education/Experience:
- Diploma in Engineering Technology (Structural, Civil, or related discipline) from a recognized post‑secondary institution.
- 3-7 years of relevant structural engineering drafting or technologist experience, supporting industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience working in fast‑paced engineering environments, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage ambiguous or evolving design inputs.
- Strong consideration given to candidates with Advanced Steel experience, including 3D modelling, connection detailing, and drawing extraction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project), Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Advance Steel, CADWorx Steel and Bluebeam Revu is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated desire to learn and grow within the structural engineering field.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
