Lead the die set-up process and ensure it is followed as per job book
Ensure scheduled dies are run in order of priority for required quantities
Set-up die protection system, verify settings as required, and document in job book
Ensure that press is set-up and running correctly including first off inspection, in process operator inspection, last-off, correct gauges and control cards, correct documentation and labelling, tool work orders, and maintenance orders are in place
Operate press(es) as required
Clearly understand and follow containment procedures.
Actively participate in housekeeping and ensure press area is tidy, clean and well organized
Load steel coils into the uncoiler when required
Operate BT Lift or Forklift as necessary if licensed
Follow all departmental procedures and work instructions.
Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
No educational requirement
1 to less than 3 years of work-related experience
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency preferred
Two years experience as a Press Operator preferred
Ability to read blueprints
Capable of operating and setting up presses using quick die change methods
Ability to demonstrate optimum use of die protection to achieve all optimum parameters
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, steel crane, etc.
