Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Hand to join our night shift operations team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Lead Hand will support daily fabrication operations by providing direction, guidance, and hands-on support to production employees while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, previous supervisory experience, and knowledge of rebar fabrication processes. Experience working with reinforcing steel is considered a strong asset.
This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and has the ability to lead a team, troubleshoot issues, and maintain efficient production flow.
Shift: Night Shift
Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to production employees on the night shift
- Assist with coordinating workflow to meet daily production schedules and customer requirements
- Ensure employees are following all safety procedures, company policies, and operating standards
- Monitor production quality and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
- Assist with training, onboarding, and mentoring new employees
- Identify and communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and material requirements to supervisors
- Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure proper handling, fabrication, and movement of reinforcing steel products
- Promote a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
- Complete required production documentation and reports as needed
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, and other departments to achieve production goals
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lead hand, supervisor, or team lead role within a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment
- Strong knowledge of reinforcing steel (rebar) fabrication is considered a significant asset
- Experience operating or working around rebar fabrication equipment is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings and work instructions is an asset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and support employees in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing production demands
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Comfortable working night shift hours on a consistent basis
