SUMMARY
Achieve a regional sales goal each month through the successful training, retaining, and/or recruiting of distributors in a given geographic area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide sales training for the distributor's sales force.
Carry demo equipment (including accessories and detergents) on vehicles at all times.
Provide parts & service management/operations training to the distributors.
Encourage dealers to attend relevant Karcher Canada training.
Ensure market share in the area through recruiting and training qualified distributors.
Travel and meet with distributors at their location(s)
While at their location, assists them in the development of their sales, service and parts departments.
Enforce distributor policies as it relates to Distributor Sales Territories. Documents and communicates any distributor action that is contrary to the Distributor policies.
Review all policies with distributors on a regular basis.
Assist Finance department in keeping files on each distributor confirming their knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures.
Keep technically up to date about the product line
Know how to sell, operate, and identify equipment and know which piece of equipment to recommend for use in different situations.
Know how to teach the benefits and features of our product line versus the competition.
Develop a consultant-oriented relationship with all customers serviced in the assigned area.
Manage an annual sales and expense budget for the assigned area.
Become very knowledgeable with all marketing materials and programs in order to assist the distributors with national and local marketing of products.
Provide reports to distributors showing their sales standings with us versus other dealers. Reports should also show changes in their trends and markets.
Frequent travel required by automobile and airplane up to 80% of the time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and at least three years successful industrial sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have experience with personal computers. Must be service-oriented, articulate and able to present a positive and professional image. Must have the ability to train and motivate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers when using the telephone and personal computer throughout most of the day and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in an office setting, frequent travel required by automobile or airplane.
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
