Overview
Neekom Industries Ltd. is looking for an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. We are seeking a reliable, self-driven professional who can manage building projects, prepare estimates, review drawings, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and take ownership of project responsibilities with minimal supervision.
This role is ideal for someone who has strong construction knowledge, excellent estimating skills, and the ability to understand project requirements without needing every detail explained step by step.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed construction estimates.
- Review specifications, tender documents, addenda, and project requirements.
- Prepare budgets, quotations, change orders, and cost comparisons.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and site teams.
- Manage project schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Assist with planning, budgeting, and execution of building and civil-related works.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for drawing review, layout understanding, and basic drafting/coordination.
- Identify project risks, missing information, constructability issues, and cost impacts.
- Support site teams by providing clear instructions, follow-ups, and documentation.
- Communicate professionally with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and internal staff.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of construction experience in Canada.
- Strong experience in building construction, estimating, take-offs, and project coordination.
- Good understanding of Canadian construction methods, drawings, specifications, and tendering processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, pricing, budgeting, and cost control.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience dealing with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with remote or northern construction projects.
- Experience with public sector, First Nation, or community-based projects.
- Experience preparing RFIs, change orders, progress claims, and project reports.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and project tracking tools.
- Experience with estimating software will be considered an asset.
- Civil construction, site servicing, grading, drainage, or roadworks experience will be considered an asset.

We are looking for someone who is practical, experienced, detail-oriented, and confident in handling both estimating and project management duties.
Compensation:
Wage or salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
