Job Title: Production Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.
Purpose:
The Production Engineering role will be responsible for identifying and providing support for capital development projects as well as analyzing field production, recommending and executing production optimization opportunities, and providing other technical production and facilities support as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with both the Calgary based engineering group and the field based engineering, completions, development, and operations teams. The candidate should reside in the SW Saskatchewan area due to the location of the role. Shaunavon is great small town with ample amenities and 45 minutes from the City of Swift Current.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
· Collaborate with Calgary-based engineers and field development teams to ensure wells are brought on production and tied in efficiently following drilling and completion activities.
· Support field operations and lead production optimization initiatives, including identifying well reactivation and abandonment candidates.
· Identify facility and pipeline requirements for current and future capital development projects and work with Calgary-based engineers to define project scope and execution requirements.
· Prepare detailed economic evaluations to support capital projects and manage associated Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) budgets.
· Assist with facility optimization and rationalization efforts, as well as initiatives focused on reducing operating costs and improving operational efficiency.
· Support Maintenance and Facilities teams in the planning and execution of annual facility turnarounds.
· Participate in the annual budgeting process and support the efficient execution of approved budgets.
· Manage base production performance by monitoring well and field production trends, conducting waterflood performance reviews, identifying optimization opportunities, and developing strategies to maximize production, asset value, and operational reliability.
· Facilitate the maintenance and accuracy of site documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards.
· Provide technical support through the implementation of best operating practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
· Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Will consider new graduates.
· Experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry including capital project planning, enhanced oil recovery and execution would be an asset
· Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
· Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level
· Must be comfortable making presentations and facilitating meetings
· Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Willingness to work in Shaunavon field office for a minimum of 2-3 years with career development and transfer opportunities to corporate Calgary office.
