KPLI Global is a diversified organization with subsidiaries in construction, real estate brokerage, and capital investment. We are seeking a highly competent, organized, and proactive Controller to oversee financial operations across all entities, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. KPLI is a new company that has grown exponentially within it's first year. We are seeking someone with the skill set to evolve and grow with the company. This role demands a strong grasp of compliance regulations, asset management, and a wide range of financial functions.
Reporting to the CFO
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure all regulatory filings, including GST and other compliance requirements, are completed accurately and on time.
- With assistance from the CFO, coordinate with external auditors and accountants for year-end financial statements and tax filings.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage AP/AR processes, ensuring accurate recording of expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Oversee tenant rent collections, deposits, and building-related expenses for capital investment properties.
Conveyancing & Trust Accounting:
- Administer trust deposits and commissions for real estate transactions.
- Ensure compliance with trust accounting regulations, supporting the broker in document control and deal closings.
Asset & Capital Management:
- Oversee financial management of real estate investments, ensuring performance tracking and budget adherence.
- Facilitate monthly depreciation schedule.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist CFO with annual budgeting and forecasting processes for all entities.
- Assist with providing regular financial reporting to leadership, identifying risks and opportunities.
Organizational Efficiency:
- Ensure efficient financial processes, implementing best practices to improve accuracy, compliance, and workflow.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, providing insights and ensuring alignment between finance and business operations.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant platforms
- Extensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation procedures
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed reports
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR sufficient minimum 4 years relevant experience; CPA or equivalent certification is a benefit
