SENIOR PURCHASER
Surerus is looking to hire a Senior Purchaser to support our Fort St John, BC and Gibbons, AB shops. The Senior Purchaser is responsible to lead the company’s buying processes including sourcing the necessary good and services, establishing supplier contracts and purchase orders, and managing budgets for the shops in both Fort St John, BC and Gibbons, AB, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery within risk mitigated procurement terms. This position will also be working closely with Finance and Operations to coordinate and manage purchasing requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their offerings, negotiate contracts, and maintain positive
relationships to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing
- Establish purchase orders, purchase contracts, subcontracts, and similar with risk mitigated terms and
conditions
- Establish and enforce procurement DOA especially include pre-approval of procurement decisions.
- Purchase products, materials, or services required for operations
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods while maintaining
accurate records
- Ensure purchases comply with company policies, industry regulations, and government requirements;
maintain proper documentation and contracts
- Work closely with finance, operations, logistics, and project teams to align procurement with
organizational needs
- Collaborate with project (partner company) procurement teams to align on process, policy, and procedure
where appropriate and to support in managing inventory of project material in shops and yards.
- Follow and maintain Company standards in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
requirements
- Recommend and implement improvements to internal purchasing processes and controls
- Liaise and collaborate within operations, partner companies, and corporate support functions as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field
- Other combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience within a similar position.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $90k- $120k annually. We will consider factors including previous experience, education, skills, and internal equity when determining placement within this range. In addition, we provide a discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, life and disability insurance, RRSP matching, and paid time off.

This position is office based and is located at our Fort St John locations

The Purchaser reports to the Chief Operating Officer
