Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions at approximately a Grade 10 level. This may be demonstrated through formal education or an equivalent combination of work, training and lived experience. Demonstrated ability to perform specialized cleaning procedures in isolation areas while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Proficient in basic computer applications required for daily tasks. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong time management skills and the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in all duties. Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position, including standing for extended periods and safely moving or lifting up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a hospital environment and adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols. Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare environment, including knowledge of floor care maintenance procedures. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with training in customer service and relations. WHMIS certification required.
