Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Technologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing survey drawings and legal plans while supporting land surveyors and project staff in the delivery of high-quality survey projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Draft a variety of legal, topographic, and construction survey plans using AutoCAD and MicroSurvey
· Process and reduce field data, sketches, and survey notes to produce accurate survey drawings and legal plans
· Research property information through the Land Title system
· Collaborate with field crews and office personnel to prepare survey deliverables efficiently and accurately
· Maintain drafting standards, organization, and attention to detail throughout all project stages
· Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment
Qualifications:
· Degree or diploma in Geomatics from BCIT or equivalent
· Minimum 2 years of experience working as a CAD Technologist in a survey office
· Strong understanding of surveying principles, drafting methods, plan preparation, and drawing presentation
· Proficiency with AutoCAD and survey drafting software
· Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team
· Strong computer skills, with the ability and willingness to learn new software and technologies
Compensation and Benefits:
· Competitive hourly wage ranging from $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
