About the Role:
As an Assistant Retail Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of the store. Your responsibilities typically include assisting the store manager in day-to-day tasks such as supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory levels, and implementing sales strategies to meet revenue targets. You may also be involved in training new employees, handling customer inquiries and complaints, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and analyzing sales data to make informed decisions. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the manager to create schedules, monitor budgets, and contribute to long-term business planning.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in the daily operation of the store and in charge when the manager is absent
- Overseeing the implementation and follow up of all training programs at store level and making recommendations for training requirements
- Ensuring that high levels of customer service are always maintained
- Ensuring that sales staff adheres to all company policy & procedure
- Overseeing the sales staff and ensuring they perform their duties in a diligent and professional manner. This includes the maintenance of their particular areas of responsibility as well as helping with other tasks
- Encouraging inventory integrity through order maintenance, inventory counts & theft prevention
- Ensuring store maintenance & merchandising requirements are maintained
- Reviewing paperwork to ensure accuracy
- Delegating & following up with all store initiatives
- Scheduling lunches & breaks of all staff members
- Reporting to the Manager to discuss outstanding issues
- Overseeing the cycle count process to ensure accuracy & completion of process
- Providing feedback from the staff to the Manager / Senior Management
- Working with staff on product knowledge, systems training, customer service skills, merchandising techniques and issues of security
Skills and Competencies:
- Previous experience in retail sales (2-3 years), customer service, sales, retail, over the counter shopping, technical support, camera repair, customer support associate, store management, sales management is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Good understanding of the products and services offered at Henry’s
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to make a personal and genuine connection with customers and your team
- Able to identify problems and a solution to them while maintaining a positive attitude
- Interested in learning new things and teaching others
