Job Details
The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Public Operations department as a Heavy Duty Technician. Reporting to the Team Lead, PW Garage Shop, the Heavy-Duty Technician performs heavy duty mechanical level work on all municipal Public Operations Vehicles, Emergency Services Vehicles and equipment, in compliance with corporate and provincially legislated Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies and codes of practice and the City of St Albert Environmental Management System.
Qualifications

Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician (On/Off Road Technician program) certificate recognized by the Province of Alberta.

Preferred candidates will have one year or more experience as a Journeyperson Technician, with a strong background in electrical systems, computer technology and communication software.

Class 3 & 5 Alberta Driver's License with "Q" (air) endorsement is required.

Valid Class 1 & 2 Alberta Driver’s License is an asset.

Red Seal Certification is preferred.
Hours of Work
40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. Participation in the standby roster will be required.
Compensation

The salary is $47.31 per hour, including a comprehensive benefits package with a flexible spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.
