Full Time – Private Resource Home – Established Team
$28.47/hour starting rate, plus BENEFITS & VACATION - South Surrey.
Shift: Primarily F/S/SU/M – shift hours 7:00pm-5:00am / 11:00pm-9:00am flexibility is expected. **potential opportunity for other shifts in the future. We do require availability on weekdays for holiday coverage (notice given prior of course)
Training is provided.
Autism Support Worker (Full-Time Permanent position) needed to join our amazing team to provide assistance and companionship to a young lady with Autism and a seizure disorder. Support workers are so much more than people, they are friends to our girl! You must be able to provide guidance and support in a compassionate, respectful, and understanding manner to fulfill the needs of the client. This is a 2-1 position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Engaging the client with activities in a play based manor.
- Provide emotional/behavioural support.
- Working with the team to assist the resident to achieve goals and build on life skills.
- Cooking and light house keeping.
- Assisting client with either Bedtime routine and or Morning routine
- Actively monitoring her through out the night via cameras, attending to and assisting client through out the night when needed.
- You will be expected to spend time both indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather.

Qualifications and Expectations:
- MUST be patient, kind, and respectful of resident and other staff members.
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting someone with Autism or developmental special needs or education equivalent.
- Must want to be engaged and have fun with resident while maintaining safety.
- Must be a team player as this is a 2-1 role.
- Must be reliable and on time.
- Female workers are preferred due to resident's needs.
- Must be able to swim as swimming and related activities with the resident is a normal part of daily life.
- Must be physically able to walk daily. She's fast!
- Must be physically able to move from sitting to standing and back multiple times as well as keep up with active resident.
- Be willing and able to work statutory holidays when they fall on your shift.
- Your own reliable vehicle and be properly insured.

Pay: From $28.47 per hour
