Falls Law Group is a growing general practice law firm seeking an experienced Law Clerk or Licensed Paralegal to join our team. This position is initially being offered to cover a maternity leave; however, there is significant potential for continued employment as the firm continues to expand.
Our practice includes criminal law, civil litigation, family law, real estate, wills and estates, Indigenous and other areas of law. We are looking for a motivated professional who can assist in managing files from commencement through resolution.
The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal law matters as well as some knowledge of civil and family litigation, and will thrive in an environment where attention to detail, organization, and professionalism are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assisting lawyers with the preparation of applications, pleadings and other court documents
- Drafting, editing, and issuing correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties
- Managing litigation deadlines, limitation periods, court scheduling, disclosure requests, and maintaining an effective tickler system
- Assisting with trial and hearing preparation, including the organization of briefs, exhibits, witness materials, and disclosure
- Coordinating service and filing of court materials through the appropriate court systems
- Maintaining and organizing both physical and electronic client files
- Communicating professionally with clients, court staff, experts, and opposing counsel
- Assisting with administrative and practice management tasks as required
- Criminal law clerks or Licensed Paralegals may be required to attend set date courts.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Experience with Cosmolex and/or legal accounting software is considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and file management skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet competing deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professionalism, discretion, and a client-focused approach

Salary - Commensurate with experience.
