New Way Truck & Trailer Repair Ltd. is looking for a highly organized and motivated Parts Coordinator to join our Maintenance Team at our Acheson terminal. This position plays a key role in supporting daily shop operations, managing inventory, coordinating parts procurement, and ensuring technicians receive the correct parts on time to minimize equipment downtime.
We operate a fast-paced fleet maintenance environment supporting a large transportation network across Canada and the United States.
Position Overview
The Parts Coordinator will work closely with the Shop Manager, mechanics, vendors, and operations team to maintain efficient parts flow and inventory control for trucks, trailers, reefers, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Order and source truck, trailer, reefer, and shop parts from approved vendors
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and parts records
- Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming inventory
- Coordinate with mechanics regarding repair requirements and parts availability
- Create and manage purchase orders, work order support, and vendor invoices
- Monitor backorders and follow up with suppliers for urgent deliveries
- Assist in warranty tracking and returns processing
- Ensure proper documentation within maintenance systems such as Cetaris
- Support breakdown situations by sourcing emergency parts after hours when required
- Maintain clean and organized parts storage areas
- Assist with vendor relationship management and pricing negotiations
- Coordinate tire, fluids, filters, and preventive maintenance inventory
- Support compliance and audit documentation related to maintenance records
Qualifications
- Previous experience in truck and trailer parts, fleet maintenance, or heavy-duty shop operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer components
- Experience with inventory management systems or maintenance software is an asset
- Familiarity with vendors such as Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, Thermo King, FleetPride, Traction, etc. is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize urgent repairs
