Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Road Builder for Logging Roads to join our team in Quesnel, BC. This role involves constructing, maintaining, and repairing logging roads to ensure safe and efficient access for forestry operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation with a focus on sustainable and durable road systems. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing directly to the success of logging projects while utilizing a variety of tools and machinery. Class 1 with Air ticket an asset.
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair logging roads by grading, leveling, and shaping terrain to meet project specifications
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators safely and efficiently
- spections of roads to identify areas needing repair or reinforcement
- Apply GIS data for planning and mapping road layouts accurately
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and managing drainage systems
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining heavy equipment and power tools
- Construction experience with a focus on road building or similar projects
- Heavy equipment operation skills including bulldozers, graders, excavators, and other machinery
- Knowledge of GIS for mapping, planning, and project documentation
- Commercial driving skills for operating trucks or transport vehicles as needed
- Maintenance skills for routine repairs of equipment and tools
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical endurance for demanding tasks

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
