We are looking for a special individual to lead our programming department. We are looking for someone to plan, organize and facilitate all aspects of our activities program for the Independent Living and Assisted Living, and memory care neighborhoods. This person will ensure the highest degree of care is provided in the development and implementation of a vibrant, individualized and stimulating recreation program
Purpose
· To plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate recreation and leisure services which will enhance the lifestyle of Residents.
· To provide opportunities for Residents to participate in activities that they enjoy and to develop new social, recreational, educational, leisure interests and pastimes.
· To provide opportunities for Residents to participate in activities that they enjoy and that are meaningful in enhancing their day to day routines – Such as Physical Exercise, Stress Reduction, Cognitive Exercises, Art / Music Therapy, Social Activities & One on One Specialized programs
· To ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements.
· To ensure effective operation and continuous improvement of the recreation services.
· To effectively represent the interests of The Waterford in all interactions with the general public, residents, families and co-workers.
Position Responsibilities
· Implementing and carrying out yourself a diverse recreational programs to enhance the well-being of our residents by planning activities and outings, guest speakers, entertainment, etc. for each neighborhood (Independent, Windsong and Birches).
· Responsible for staff scheduling and payroll budget for the activity department.
· Implementing, monitoring, and achieving of all approved budgets and plans for all Recreation Departments. Implementing corrective strategies when there is a budget/plan variance to ensure the overall achievement of objectives.
· Providing a program to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle, offer mental and physical stimulation, and promote a lively interactive atmosphere.
· Resolving issues related to Resident/family complaints which have been raised within the home in conjunction with the Executive Director.
· Promotes and supports a team environment
· To establish shift routines and responsibilities including keeping each neighborhood organized and tidy to ensure an immaculate, attractive and healthy environment for all and to ensure that shift routines and job functions are completed as assigned
