(MilAero), now in its 25th year of operation in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is an Indigenous, female-owned build-to-print manufacturer of cable/wire harnesses, electromechanical enclosures and power distribution units for Aerospace and Defense customers. We have a solid track record of delivering best-value, high-quality harnesses, on time.
For the past 10 years MilAero has been growing at a 18.4% compound annual growth rate. To maintain this growth level, we are investing significantly in our future. With the commitment of increased defense spending by our federal government, and new contracts with customers, we are currently investing in the expansion of our facilities, new equipment, software/systems and people.

Job Description: Quality Control
Reporting Relationships: reports to the Quality & Process Lead
Purpose of Role:
The Quality Control position is critical to ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards, adhere to industry regulations, and consistently exceed customer expectations. This person is responsible for inspecting components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
Key Responsibilites:
- Interpret drawings and specifications to understand design/build requirements
- Perform visual/complex tests/inspections using instruments and equipment
- Document inspection filings
- Final inspection of outgoing finished assemblies
- Employee IPC-620 training and certification (Certified IPC Trainer)
- Report defects or problems to the management team
Key Relationships:
- Internal: Quality & Process Lead, Production Lead, Engineering Lead, Technicians
- External: None
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School diploma
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- At least two years of equivalent work experience in a relevant role or industry
- In-depth understanding /experience interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of IPC-620 workmanship standards and quality management systems desirable. Willing to be trained and may become a trainer.
- Understanding of general quality control standards and testing techniques
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:
- This role requires regular interaction with production floor staff.
English Language Requirement: This position requires English communication skills equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 or higher. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate this through valid results from an IRCC-approved English language test, such as IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General, or PTE Core. This requirement is based on the communication duties of the position.
