Early Childhood Educator
- Must be experience in managing day to day operations in a childcare
- Must be able to commute to daycare location: 91 Main Street North, Grand Valley, Ontario
- Graduate of an Early Childhood Education program (2 years from recognized College Diploma or University Degree)
- Must be registered and good standing with the College of ECE
- Recent Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Minimum of 2 years experience in working with children in a child care setting
- Must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certificate for Infant and Child
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to plan age-appropriate activities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, staff and program specialists.
- Sensitive and inclusive to the children and families’ needs
- Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom
Job Description
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- May supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants-creating policy

- Learning Wage Enhancement Calculations, subsidy application, Ministry of Education requirements, etc
