Lead Carpenter – Residential Renovations
Boyd Construction is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. We specialize primarily in residential renovations and are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong leadership skills, and can confidently manage a jobsite from start to finish.
The Role
As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading a crew on residential renovation projects and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will work closely with our Project Manager and clients to keep projects organized and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a crew on residential renovation jobsites
- Complete quality carpentry and renovation work
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
- Organize daily tasks and ensure projects stay on schedule
- Ensure projects are completed within allocated timelines
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager regarding project progress, materials, scheduling, and any issues that arise
- Communicate professionally with clients while working in their homes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades as required
- Identify and resolve jobsite issues efficiently
- Ensure company standards for quality, safety, and professionalism are maintained
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in residential renovations
- Journeyman Carpenter certification preferred but not required
- Previous experience leading a crew or acting as a Lead Carpenter
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and renovation practices
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities on a jobsite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read plans and understand project scope
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Reliable, professional, and motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines
