Peake is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook II to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in consistently delivering high-quality food.
As a Cook II, you will play an important role in preparing and executing menu items, supporting event production, and maintaining consistency across all services. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Peake kitchen team to deliver exceptional food experiences across a wide range of events throughout the city.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing menu items to Peake standards, supporting food production and presentation, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Major Responsibilities

Prepare and execute menu items under the direction of the Sous Chef.

Assist with food production, assembly, and presentation, including canapés.

Ensure all dishes meet Peake’s quality and presentation standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.

Support menu development and new item creation as required.

Handle food products properly to minimize waste.

Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Complete additional tasks as needed during high-demand periods.
Education, Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Catering or banquet experience considered an asset.

Formal culinary training considered an asset.

Valid FoodSafe certification required.

Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP).

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
