Trans Med is seeking a reliable Japanese-English Bilingual Medical Interpreter /Coordinator to join our team.
This position is ideal for a native Japanese speaker with strong English communication skills who enjoys helping people and working in a healthcare-related environment.
About the Role
You will support Japanese clients who require medical care in Canada by providing interpretation services, coordinating appointments, assisting with insurance claims, and communicating with medical facilities and insurance companies.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting between Japanese and English at medical facilities
- Assisting clients with medical and insurance-related documentation
- Preparing and submitting insurance claim documents
- Communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies via phone and email
- Coordinating appointments
- Maintaining and managing confidential patient information
Qualifications
- Native-level Japanese and professional-level English communication skills
- Previous work experience with Japanese companies and/or Japanese clients required
- Strong understanding of Japanese customer service standards
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
- Previous experience in interpretation, healthcare, or customer service is an asset
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Friendly, professional, and dependable
Work Schedule
- Part-time position (2–4 days per week)
- Flexibility to occasionally assist with morning, evening, or emergency cases is an asset
- Minimum one-year commitment preferred
